oṃ ṛṣiruvāca etatte kathitaṃ bhūpa devīmāhātmyamuttamam evaṃ prabhāvā sā devī yayedaṃ dhāryate jagat

(ಓಂ. ಋಷಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದನು:) 'ಓ ರಾಜನೇ, ದೇವಿಯ ಈ ಪರಮ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು (ದೇವೀ ಮಾಹಾತ್ಮ್ಯವು) ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಈ ಪ್ರಪಂಚವನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಧರಿಸಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವಳೋ ಆ ದೇವಿಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಇಂತಹುದು.
