devyuvāca daityeśvareṇa prahito balavānbalasaṃvṛtaḥ balānnayasi māmevaṃ tataḥ kiṃ te karomyaham

(దేవి పలికెను:) 'నీవు దైత్యపతిచేత పంపబడినవాడవు, బలవంతుడవు, సైన్యంతో చుట్టుముట్టబడినవాడవు; నీవు ఇట్లు నన్ను బలవంతంగా తీసుకొనిపోదలచిన యెడల — అప్పుడు నేను నీకు ఏమి చేయగలను (అనగా జరగవలసినదానిని నేను ఎట్లు ఆపగలను)?'
