Brihaspati is the Guru of the gods (Devaguru) and lord of the planet Jupiter — the giver of wisdom, righteousness, prosperity and good fortune. Worshipped especially on Thursdays alongside Lord Vishnu (whose day Thursday is), his aarti is sung with offerings of yellow — bananas, gram and jaggery — to win his benevolent grace.

A strong, pleased Brihaspati is said to bless a person with wisdom, a good marriage, worthy children and lasting prosperity. Devotees keep the Thursday fast, offer yellow items and bananas, and sing this aarti to strengthen Jupiter and win the Devaguru's grace.

Meaning:ॐ, হে বৃহস্পতি দেব (দেবগুরু, গুরু গ্রহ), আপনার জয় হোক; ক্ষণে ক্ষণে আমি আপনাকে কলা, ফল ও শুকনো ফলের ভোগ অর্পণ করি।
तुम पूरण परमात्मा तुम अन्तर्यामी । जगतपिता जगदीश्वर तुम सबके स्वामी ॥

Meaning:আপনার চরণের অমৃত পবিত্র এবং প্রতিটি পাপ ধুয়ে দেয়; প্রতিটি ইচ্ছা পূর্ণকারী — হে প্রভু, কৃপা করুন।
धन अर्पण कर जो जन शरण पड़े । प्रभु प्रकट तब होकर आकर द्वार खड़े ॥

Meaning:যে নিজের ধন অর্পণ করে আপনার শরণে পড়ে — তখন প্রভু প্রকট হয়ে তার দ্বারে স্বয়ং দাঁড়িয়ে যান।
दीनदयाल दयानिधि भक्तन हितकारी । पाप दोष सब हर्ता भव बन्धन हारी ॥

Meaning:দীনের প্রতি দয়ালু, করুণার সাগর, ভক্তদের হিতকারী; সর্ব পাপ ও দোষ হরণকারী, সংসার বন্ধন ছেদনকারী।
सकल मनोरथ दायक सब संशय हारो । विषय विकार मिटाओ सन्तन सुखकारी ॥

जो कोई आरती तेरी प्रेम सहित गावे । जेठानन्द आनन्दकर सो निश्चय पावे ॥

Benefits of Chanting বৃহস্পতি দেব আরতি
Sung to Brihaspati Dev (Guru / planet Jupiter), the preceptor of the gods, for wisdom, knowledge, prosperity and a strong Jupiter in the horoscope.
Chanted especially on Thursday (Guruvar / Brihaspativar), the day of Jupiter, for success in education, marriage, progeny and spiritual growth.
Traditionally performed with an offering of yellow items — banana, chana dal, jaggery and yellow flowers — Jupiter's auspicious colour.
How to Chant বৃহস্পতি দেব আরতি
Light a lamp (ghee or camphor) and, holding it, perform the aarti by circling it before the deity while singing, ideally with a bell. Offer flowers and prasad, and conclude by taking the aarti blessing (passing the hands over the flame and to the eyes). Sing with devotion and a steady heart.
