devyuvāca daityeśvareṇa prahito balavānbalasaṃvṛtaḥ balānnayasi māmevaṃ tataḥ kiṃ te karomyaham
Meaning
(ದೇವಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದಳು:) 'ನೀನು ದೈತ್ಯಪತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು, ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನು, ಸೈನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು; ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಲು ಬಯಸಿದರೆ — ಆಗ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲೆ (ಅಂದರೆ ಆಗಲೇಬೇಕಾದುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ತಡೆಯಬಲ್ಲೆ)?'
