yasmāccaṇḍaṃ ca muṇḍaṃ ca gṛhītvā tvamupāgatā cāmuṇḍeti tato loke khyātā devī bhaviṣyasi
Meaning
'നീ ചണ്ഡനെയും (ചണ്ഡാ) മുണ്ഡനെയും പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വന്നതിനാൽ, ഹേ ദേവീ, ആ കാരണത്താൽ നീ ലോകത്തിൽ ചാമുണ്ഡാ എന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധയാകും.'
