īṣatsahāsamamalaṃ paripūrṇacandra- bimbānukāri kanakottamakāntikāntam atyadbhutaṃ prahṛtamāttaruṣā tathāpi vaktraṃ vilokya sahasā mahiṣāsureṇa

ਹੌਲੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਮੁਸਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ, ਨਿਰਮਲ, ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ-ਬਿੰਬ ਵਰਗਾ, ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਸੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮੁੱਖ — ਫਿਰ ਵੀ, ਕਿੰਨਾ ਅਜੀਬ, ਕਿ ਉਸ ਮਹਿਸ਼ਾਸੁਰ ਨੇ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ!
