atha vyavasthitān dṛiṣhṭvā dhārtarāṣhṭrān kapi-dhwajaḥ pravṛitte śhastra-sampāte dhanurudyamya pāṇḍavaḥ hṛiṣhīkeśhaṁ tadā vākyam idam āha mahī-pate

ହେ ପୃଥିବୀପତି! ତାହାପରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଜ୍ଜାରେ ସଜ୍ଜିତ ହୋଇ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଧୃତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ପକ୍ଷୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର ନିକ୍ଷେପ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେବାକୁ ଯାଉଥିବାର ଦେଖି, ଯାହାଙ୍କ ଧ୍ୱଜରେ କପି (ବାନର) ଚିହ୍ନ ଥିଲା, ସେହି ପାଣ୍ଡୁପୁତ୍ର ଅର୍ଜୁନ ଆପଣା ଧନୁ ଉଠାଇ ଶ୍ରୀକୃଷ୍ଣଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲେ।
