ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या

ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या जीवो ब्रह्मैव नापरः।
अनेन वेद्यं सच्छास्त्रमिति वेदान्तडिण्डिमः॥
brahma satyaṃ jagan-mithyā jīvo brahmaiva nāparaḥ |
anena vedyaṃ sacchāstram iti vedānta-ḍiṇḍimaḥ ||
Brahman is real, the world is unreal (an appearance), and the individual self is none other than Brahman itself. This is what should be known as the true essence of scripture — so resounds the drumbeat of Vedanta.
