कल्पानोकह-पुष्प-जाल-विलसन्नीलालकां मातृकां कान्तां कञ्ज-दलेक्षणां कलि-मल-प्रध्वंसिनीं कालिकाम् । काञ्ची-नूपुर-हार-दाम-सुभगां काञ्ची-पुरी-नायिकां कामाक्षीं करि-कुम्भ-सन्निभ-कुचां वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ १॥

kalpānokaha-puṣpa-jāla-vilasannīlālakāṃ mātṛkāṃ kāntāṃ kañja-dalekṣaṇāṃ kali-mala-pradhvaṃsinīṃ kālikām | kāñcī-nūpura-hāra-dāma-subhagāṃ kāñcī-purī-nāyikāṃ kāmākṣīṃ kari-kumbha-sannibha-kucāṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 1||

I worship Kamakshi, the beloved of Lord Mahesha (Shiva): the Divine Mother whose dark tresses shine adorned with flowers of the celestial wish-tree, the gentle beauty with lotus-petal eyes, the dark Kalika who destroys the impurities of the Kali age, lovely with girdle, anklets and necklaces, the presiding Goddess of Kanchipuri, whose breasts are full like the temples of an elephant.

काशाभांशुक-भासुरां प्रविलसत्-कोशातकी-सन्निभां चन्द्रार्कानल-लोचनां सुरुचिरालंकार-भूषोज्ज्वलाम् । ब्रह्म-श्रीपति-वासवादि-मुनिभिः संसेविताङ्घ्रि-द्वयां कामाक्षीं गज-राज-मन्द-गमनां वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ २॥

kāśābhāṃśuka-bhāsurāṃ pravilasat-kośātakī-sannibhāṃ candrārkānala-locanāṃ surucirālaṃkāra-bhūṣojjvalām | brahma-śrīpati-vāsavādi-munibhiḥ saṃsevitāṅghri-dvayāṃ kāmākṣīṃ gaja-rāja-manda-gamanāṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 2||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha: radiant in garments bright as kasha-blossoms, shining like the luminous moon-flower, with the moon, the sun and fire for Her three eyes, blazing with exquisite ornaments; Her two feet are served by Brahma, Vishnu (the Lord of Shri), Indra and the sages, and She moves with the slow majestic gait of the king of elephants.

ऐं-क्लीं-सौरिति यां वदन्ति मुनयस्तत्त्वार्थ-रूपां पराम् वाचां या जननी समस्त-जगतां माता च भूतेश्वरी । पायात्पंकज-लोचना भगवती मां पाहि कामेश्वरी कामाक्षीं हरि-नीलमणि-द्युति-निभां वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ ३॥

aiṃ-klīṃ-sauriti yāṃ vadanti munayastattvārtha-rūpāṃ parām vācāṃ yā jananī samasta-jagatāṃ mātā ca bhūteśvarī | pāyātpaṃkaja-locanā bhagavatī māṃ pāhi kāmeśvarī kāmākṣīṃ hari-nīlamaṇi-dyuti-nibhāṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 3||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha, whose lustre is like a sapphire: She whom the sages invoke with the seeds 'Aim, Klim, Sauh' as the supreme essence of Truth, the Mother of all speech, the Mother of all the worlds, the sovereign of all beings. May the lotus-eyed Goddess Kameshwari protect me; O Kameshwari, guard me.

योगीन्द्रैर्निज-चित्त-पंकज-गृहे ध्यानावसाने स्थितां चन्द्रार्क-प्रतिमान-कुण्डल-धरां स्फूर्जत्किरीटोज्ज्वलाम् । ऐश्वर्यं निखिलं ददाति शरणागत्या समभ्यर्थिते कामाक्षीं हसिताननां सुललितां वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ ४॥

yogīndrairnija-citta-paṃkaja-gṛhe dhyānāvasāne sthitāṃ candrārka-pratimāna-kuṇḍala-dharāṃ sphūrjatkirīṭojjvalām | aiśvaryaṃ nikhilaṃ dadāti śaraṇāgatyā samabhyarthite kāmākṣīṃ hasitānanāṃ sulalitāṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 4||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha, the gracious-faced and ever-charming: She who abides in the lotus of the hearts of the foremost yogis at the culmination of their meditation, who wears earrings bright as the moon and sun and a glittering crown, and who, when entreated through surrender, bestows the whole of divine sovereignty and prosperity.

श्रीमत्-कुंकुम-पंक-पंकिल-कुचां शोणाधराम्भोरुहां वाणी-पद्म-भवादि-देव-मुकुटैर्न्यस्ताङ्घ्रि-पीठाम्बुजाम् । भक्तानां पटले विभूति-निवहान् कारुण्य-वारांनिधिं कामाक्षीं विधृताक्ष-सूत्र-वलयां वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ ५॥

śrīmat-kuṃkuma-paṃka-paṃkila-kucāṃ śoṇādharāmbhoruhāṃ vāṇī-padma-bhavādi-deva-mukuṭairnyastāṅghri-pīṭhāmbujām | bhaktānāṃ paṭale vibhūti-nivahān kāruṇya-vārāṃnidhiṃ kāmākṣīṃ vidhṛtākṣa-sūtra-valayāṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 5||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha, who holds the rosary and bracelet: Her breasts are smeared with auspicious saffron paste, Her lips are red as a lotus, and the gods Saraswati, Brahma and the rest lay their crowns at Her lotus feet; an ocean of compassion, She showers abundance upon Her devotees.

एकाम्रेश-कुटुम्बिनीं कलि-हरां धर्मार्थ-मोक्ष-प्रदां वीणा-वादन-तत्परां जप-पटीं वेद-स्वरूपां पराम् । पद्माक्षीं परदेवतां पर-शिवां पाशांकुशालंकृतां कामाक्षीं कलि-दोष-नाशन-करीं वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ ६॥

ekāmreśa-kuṭumbinīṃ kali-harāṃ dharmārtha-mokṣa-pradāṃ vīṇā-vādana-tatparāṃ japa-paṭīṃ veda-svarūpāṃ parām | padmākṣīṃ paradevatāṃ para-śivāṃ pāśāṃkuśālaṃkṛtāṃ kāmākṣīṃ kali-doṣa-nāśana-karīṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 6||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha, the remover of the faults of Kali: the consort of Ekamranatha, who grants righteousness, wealth and liberation, ever intent on playing the veena, devoted to japa, the supreme One whose form is the Veda, the lotus-eyed Supreme Deity, the transcendent Shiva-Shakti, adorned with noose and goad.

धीरां शुद्ध-तरंगिणीं सुर-नदीं धैर्य-प्रदां धार्मिकां कल्याणीं कमलापतेः सहचरीं कैवल्य-दानोद्यताम् । नित्यां नित्य-सुखप्रदां निरुपमां नित्योदितां निर्मलां कामाक्षीं कलि-कल्मष-क्षय-करीं वन्दे महेश-प्रियाम् ॥ ७॥

dhīrāṃ śuddha-taraṃgiṇīṃ sura-nadīṃ dhairya-pradāṃ dhārmikāṃ kalyāṇīṃ kamalāpateḥ sahacarīṃ kaivalya-dānodyatām | nityāṃ nitya-sukhapradāṃ nirupamāṃ nityoditāṃ nirmalāṃ kāmākṣīṃ kali-kalmaṣa-kṣaya-karīṃ vande maheśa-priyām || 7||

I worship Kamakshi, beloved of Mahesha, who wears away the sins of the Kali age: the steadfast One, a pure flowing stream, the celestial river, the giver of courage, the righteous and auspicious One, the companion of the Lord of Lakshmi, ever ready to grant liberation, eternal, the giver of everlasting bliss, peerless, ever-resplendent and immaculate.
