माङ्गल्यं तन्तुनानेन मम जीवनहेतुना।
कण्ठे बध्नामि सुभगे त्वं जीव शरदः शतम्॥
Māṅgalyaṁ tantunānena mama jīvanahetunā।
Kaṇṭhe badhnāmi subhage tvaṁ jīva śaradaḥ śatam॥
This is the sacred thread of marital auspiciousness, the very support and reason of my life. O blessed one, I tie it around your neck; may you live happily for a hundred years (and be my partner for life).
