Mere To Giridhar Gopal — Complete Lyrics

Sanskrit text with English transliteration and translation

Verse 1
Mere to Giridhar Gopal, doosro na koi Jaake sir mor mukut, mero pati soi
Giridhar Gopal alone is mine — there is no other. He who wears the peacock-feather crown, he alone is my Lord.
Verse 2
Taat maat bhraat bandhu, aapno na koi Chhaandi dayi kul ki kaani, kaha karihai koi
Father, mother, brother, kin — none of them are truly mine. I have let go of my family's honour; what can anyone do?
Verse 3
Santan dhig baithi baithi, lok laaj khoi Chunari ke kiye took, odh leenhi loi
Sitting among the saints I have shed all social shame. I tore my fine veil to shreds and wrapped myself in a coarse blanket.
Verse 4
Aansun jal seenchi seenchi, prem beli boi Ab to beli phail gayi, aanand phal hoi
Watering it again and again with my tears, I sowed the creeper of love; now the creeper has spread and bears the fruit of bliss.
Verse 5
Meera prabhu Girdhar Nagar, milya mohi soi
Meera's Lord is Girdhar Nagar (Krishna) — He alone has become mine.
