श्रियःकान्ताय कल्याणनिधये निधयेऽर्थिनाम् । श्रीशेषशायिने अनन्तपद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १ ॥
śriyaḥkāntāya kalyāṇanidhaye nidhaye'rthinām | śrīśeṣaśāyine anantapadmanābhāya maṅgalam || 1 ||
May all auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha — the beloved of Sri, the treasure of blessings, the wealth of all who seek Him, who reclines upon the serpent Sesha. (1)
स्यानन्दूरपुरीभाग्यभव्यरूपाय विष्णवे । आनन्दसिन्धवे अनन्तपद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ २ ॥
syānandūrapurībhāgyabhavyarūpāya viṣṇave | ānandasindhave anantapadmanābhāya maṅgalam || 2 ||
May auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha, that ocean of bliss, Vishnu, whose splendid form is the very fortune of the city of Syanandura (Thiruvananthapuram). (2)
हेमकूटविमानान्तर्भ्राजमानाय हारिणे । हरिलक्ष्मीसमेताय पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ३ ॥
hemakūṭavimānāntarbhrājamānāya hāriṇe | harilakṣmīsametāya padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 3 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, the enchanting Lord shining within the golden-domed sanctum, who abides together with Hari's consort Lakshmi. (3)
श्रीवैकुण्ठविरक्ताय शङ्खतीर्थाम्बुधेस्तटे । रमया रममाणाय पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ४ ॥
śrīvaikuṇṭhaviraktāya śaṅkhatīrthāmbudhestaṭe | ramayā ramamāṇāya padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 4 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, who, detached even from Sri Vaikuntha, delights with Lakshmi on the shore by the ocean near the sacred Shankha-tirtha. (4)
अशेषचिदचिद्वस्तुशेषिणे शेषशायिने । अशेषदायिने अनन्तपद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ५ ॥
aśeṣacidacidvastuśeṣiṇe śeṣaśāyine | aśeṣadāyine anantapadmanābhāya maṅgalam || 5 ||
May auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha, the Master of all things sentient and insentient, who reclines on Sesha and grants all that is sought without exception. (5)
यत्पदं परमं सेव्यं सदा पश्यन्ति सूरयः । सेनापतिमुखास्तस्मै पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ६ ॥
yatpadaṃ paramaṃ sevyaṃ sadā paśyanti sūrayaḥ | senāpatimukhāstasmai padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 6 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, whose supreme abode the eternal sages headed by Vishvaksena ever behold and serve. (6)
चतुर्मुखेश्वरमुखैः पुत्रपौत्रादिशालिने । समस्तपरिवाराय पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ७ ॥
caturmukheśvaramukhaiḥ putrapautrādiśāline | samastaparivārāya padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 7 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, attended by His whole retinue — Brahma, Shiva and the rest — like His sons and grandsons. (7)
दिवाकरयतीशानयोगिहृत्पद्मभानवे । परस्मै ब्रह्मणे अनन्तपद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ८ ॥
divākarayatīśānayogihṛtpadmabhānave | parasmai brahmaṇe anantapadmanābhāya maṅgalam || 8 ||
May auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha, the Supreme Brahman, who is the sun shining within the heart-lotus of yogis like Divakara Muni. (8)
पराङ्कुशप्रबन्धोक्तिप्रथिताय परमात्मने । पूर्णाय महते अनन्तपद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ९ ॥
parāṅkuśaprabandhoktiprathitāya paramātmane | pūrṇāya mahate anantapadmanābhāya maṅgalam || 9 ||
May auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha, the perfect and infinite Supreme Self, renowned in the hymns of Parankusa (Nammalvar). (9)
वञ्चिभूपशिरोरत्नरश्मिनीराजिताङ्घ्रये । वाञ्छिताखिलदायास्तु पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १० ॥
vañcibhūpaśiroratnaraśminīrājitāṅghraye | vāñchitākhiladāyāstu padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 10 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, the granter of every wish, whose feet are bathed in the rays of the crest-jewels of the kings of Vanchi (Travancore). (10)
सर्वावयवसौन्दर्यसौवर्णसुषमाजुषे । सदा सम्मोहनायास्तु पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ ११ ॥
sarvāvayavasaundaryasauvarṇasuṣamājuṣe | sadā sammohanāyāstu padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 11 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha, radiant with the golden beauty of His every limb, who forever enchants (the hearts of all). (11)
योगेश्वराय कृष्णाय नरसिंहाय योगिने । योगमुद्राभिरामाय पद्मनाभाय मङ्गलम् ॥ १२ ॥
yogeśvarāya kṛṣṇāya narasiṃhāya yogine | yogamudrābhirāmāya padmanābhāya maṅgalam || 12 ||
May auspiciousness be to Padmanabha — the Lord of Yoga, who is Krishna and Narasimha, the great yogi, beautiful in His yoga-mudra. (12)
अनन्तपुरनाथाय निरन्तरदयामुचे । अनन्तपद्मनाभाय नित्यश्रीर्नित्यमङ्गलम् ॥ १३ ॥
anantapuranāthāya nirantaradayāmuce | anantapadmanābhāya nityaśrīrnityamaṅgalam || 13 ||
May eternal prosperity and eternal auspiciousness be to Ananta Padmanabha, the Lord of Anantapuram, who pours forth ceaseless compassion. (13)
