Origin & Story
Tantric tradition; Shakta and Vaishnava Agamas and bija-mantra texts · Tantric and Vedic seers (traditional) · Ancient
In the bija-mantra tradition, Kleem is exalted as the Kama beej, the seed of attraction and desire in its purest, divine sense. It is composed of 'Ka' (Kamadeva/Krishna), 'La' (contentment and the earth element), 'Ee' (Mahamaya) and the bindu. Because Krishna is celebrated as the all-attractive Lord who draws every heart, and Kamadeva governs love, Kleem became central to mantras of divine love; it likewise serves as a tender seed of grace in the mantras of Kali.
✦ As told in scripture
Devotees say that sincere repetition of Kleem with a pure heart melts coldness and estrangement, kindling warmth and devotion where there was none. In the bhakti tradition it is told that the all-attractive sound of Kleem-Krishna can draw the wandering mind irresistibly back to the Lord, just as the flute of Krishna once drew the gopis of Vrindavan.

How to Chant க்லீம் பீஜ மந்திரம்
Sit in a clean, calm space before an image of Krishna or the Devi. Settle the breath and chant 'Om Kleem Krishnaya Namah' (or simply 'Kleem') 108 times with a tulsi mala (for Krishna) or rudraksha mala. Pronounce Ka-Lee-m and let the bindu hum at the heart. Keep the intention pure and selfless — Kleem works best when chanted for divine love, harmony and the well-being of all, never to control or harm another. A 40-day practice with devotion is traditional, and it pairs beautifully with the Hare Krishna mahamantra.
