One of the most beloved and oft-repeated verses of the Gita, Krishna gives His tender fourfold instruction: fix your mind on Me, be My devotee, worship Me, and bow to Me — and you will surely come to Me. He seals it with a personal promise — 'truly I promise you this' — adding the most intimate words, 'for you are dear to Me.' It is a complete, loving summary of the path of devotion.

In the final chapter, Moksha Sannyasa Yoga, Krishna delivers His most confidential teaching to Arjuna. Just before the famous charama-shloka (18.66), He gives this loving fourfold instruction and seals it with a personal promise, assuring Arjuna of attainment because he is dear to the Lord.
