This is the beloved meditation verse on Lord Ganesha that opens innumerable Ganesha stotras and daily pujas. In four lines it paints the Lord — elephant-faced, served by His ganas, delighting in fruits, son of Uma, destroyer of sorrow — and bows at His feet. By tradition no worship begins without first saluting Vighneshwara, the remover of obstacles, and this verse is among the most cherished ways to do so.
✦ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ
It is said that Ganesha, saluted first with this verse, clears the obstacles from every path — so that whatever is begun in His name reaches its fruit.

ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪੰਗਤੀ ਜਾਂ ▶ ਬਟਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਸੁਣੋ
ਗਜਾਨਨਂ ਭੂਤਗਣਾਦਿਸੇਵਿਤਂ ਕਪਿਤ੍ਥਜਮ੍ਬੂਫਲਚਾਰੁਭਕ੍ਸ਼ਣਮ੍ । ਉਮਾਸੁਤਂ ਸ਼ੋਕਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਕਾਰਣਂ ਨਮਾਮਿ ਵਿਘ੍ਨੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਪਾਦਪਙ੍ਕਜਮ੍ ॥

ਅਰਥ:ਹਾਥੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਾਲੇ, ਭੂਤਗਣਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਿਤ, ਕਪਿੱਥ ਤੇ ਜਾਮਣ ਫਲ ਦਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਉਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸ਼ੋਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਘਨੇਸ਼੍ਵਰ (ਗਣੇਸ਼) ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਕਮਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
