In the Shakta tantras, Hreem is exalted as the Maya beej and the very sound-body of the Divine Mother. It is formed of 'Ha' (Shiva/ether), 'Ra' (fire), 'Ee' (Mahamaya) and the bindu (the dot of Shakti). As the seed of Bhuvaneshwari — She whose form is the entire cosmos — Hreem is said to encompass creation, preservation and dissolution within a single syllable, which is why it stands at the heart of so many goddess mantras.

ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରରେ କୁହାଯାଇଥିବା ପରି

Devotees of Bhuvaneshwari hold that steadfast repetition of Hreem dissolves grief and fear and gradually grants a sovereign, unshakeable peace, as if the Queen of the worlds herself were guarding the heart. Tantric lore describes Hreem as so complete that the entire Sri Vidya can be condensed into this one sacred sound.

ଜପ ସଂଖ୍ୟା108ଥର
ଉତ୍ତମ ସମୟBrahma Muhurta (pre-dawn), Friday, Navaratri, and Ashtami/Navami

Sit facing east or north in a clean, quiet place before a lamp or image of the Devi. Steady the breath, then chant 'Om Hreem Namah' (or simply 'Hreem') 108 times with a rudraksha or crystal mala. Pronounce Ha-Ree-m clearly, letting the 'm' (bindu) resonate upward toward the crown. As you chant, feel the Goddess as the loving ruler of all the worlds and surrender your worries to her. Navaratri and Fridays are especially powerful, and a 40-day commitment deepens the effect. Receive Hreem from a qualified guru where possible, as it is a potent Shakti beej.

Hreem (ह्रीं) is the great 'Maya beej' — the seed sound of the Divine Mother as Adi Shakti, and especially of Bhuvaneshwari, the Goddess who rules all the worlds. It has no dictionary meaning but is a concentrated sound that carries the entire creative power of the feminine divine. It is often called the 'Shakti-pranava', the Om of the Goddess.
Hreem is primarily the beej of Bhuvaneshwari and of the universal Adi Shakti / Mahamaya. Because it represents the Goddess in her most universal form, it also appears as a core seed in mantras of Durga, Lakshmi, Kali, Tara and the other Mahavidyas.
Chanting 'Om Hreem Namah' with devotion and a pure heart is widely considered safe and beneficial. As Hreem is a powerful Shakti beej, traditional teachers recommend receiving it from a qualified guru for intensive sadhana, but devotional repetition for the Mother's grace is welcomed for all.
Brahma Muhurta (the pre-dawn hour) and Fridays are excellent, and Navaratri — especially the Ashtami and Navami nights — is the most auspicious period of the year to intensify Devi practice with Hreem.
