Venkateswara Mangalasasanam is the cherished 'invocation of auspiciousness' sung to Lord Venkateswara (Srinivasa/Balaji) of Tirumala-Tirupati, with each of its fourteen verses ending in the refrain 'Mangalam'. The Mangalasasanam forms the closing portion of the daily liturgy at the Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswara. After the Lord is awakened with the Suprabhatam, praised with the Stotram, and surrendered to with the Prapatti, the worship concludes with this Mangalasasanam in which the devotee, brimming with love, wishes long auspiciousness upon the Lord and upon the lineage of acharyas who have ever sung His glory. The Sri Vaishnava idea of mangalasasanam — blessing the Lord out of pure affection rather than asking anything for oneself — is its heart.

śriyaḥ kāntāya kalyāṇanidhaye nidhaye'rthinām | śrīveṅkaṭanivāsāya śrīnivāsāya maṅgalam || 1 ||

Meaning:May all auspiciousness be to Srinivasa, the beloved of Sri, the treasure of blessings, the refuge of all who seek, who dwells on the sacred Venkata Hill. (1)

lakṣmīsavibhramālokasubhrūvibhramacakṣuṣe | cakṣuṣe sarvalokānāṃ veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 2 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha, whose eyes dance like the playful glance of Lakshmi's arched brows, and who is Himself the guiding eye of all the worlds. (2)

śrīveṅkaṭādriśṛṅgāgramaṅgalābharaṇāṅghraye | maṅgalānāṃ nivāsāya śrīnivāsāya maṅgalam || 3 ||

svataḥ sarvavide sarvaśaktaye sarvaśeṣiṇe | sulabhāya suśīlāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 6 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha — self-luminously all-knowing, all-powerful, the Master of all, yet easily accessible and gentle of nature. (6)

parasmai brahmaṇe pūrṇakāmāya paramātmane | prayuñje paratattvāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 7 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha — the Supreme Brahman, the ever-fulfilled, the Supreme Self; I worship Him as the Highest Truth. (7)

ākālatattvamaśrāntamātmanāmanupaśyatām | atṛptyamṛtarūpāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 8 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha, who is the inexhaustible nectar-form, ever fresh and never cloying to the yogis who behold Him through all time. (8)

prāyaḥ svacaraṇau puṃsāṃ śaraṇyatvena pāṇinā | kṛpayā''diśate śrīmadveṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 9 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to the radiant Venkatesha, who with His hand graciously points to His own feet as the sure refuge of all souls. (9)

dayāmṛtataraṅgiṇyāstaraṅgairiva śītalaiḥ | apāṅgaiḥ siñcate viśvaṃ veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 10 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha, who bathes the whole universe with the cool waves of His glances, as if with ripples from the river of the nectar of mercy. (10)

sragbhūṣāmbarahetīnāṃ suṣamāvahamūrtaye | sarvārtiśamanāyāstu veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 11 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha, whose form radiates beauty through His garlands, ornaments, garments and weapons, and who stills every affliction. (11)

śrīvaikuṇṭhaviraktāya svāmipuṣkariṇītaṭe | ramayā ramamāṇāya veṅkaṭeśāya maṅgalam || 12 ||

Meaning:May auspiciousness be to Venkatesha, who, detached even from Sri Vaikuntha, delights with Lakshmi on the banks of the Swami Pushkarini. (12)

śrīmatsundarajāmātṛmunimānasavāsine | sarvalokanivāsāya śrīnivāsāya maṅgalam || 13 ||
