आपदुद्धारक हनुमत् स्तोत्रम्

Verse 1
ॐ अस्य श्रीआपदुद्धारक हनुमत्स्तोत्रमहामन्त्रस्य, विभीषण ऋषिः, हनुमान् देवता, सर्वापदुद्धारक श्रीहनुमत्प्रसादेन मम सर्वापन्निवृत्त्यर्थे, सर्वकार्यानुकूल्यसिद्ध्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः।
Om asya shree-aapaduddhaaraka-hanumat-stotra-mahaamantrasya, vibheeshana rishih, hanumaan devataa, sarvaapaduddhaaraka shree-hanumat-prasaadena mama sarvaapan-nivrittyarthe, sarvakaaryaanukoolya-siddhyarthe jape viniyogah.
Om. Of this great mantra-hymn, the 'Apaduddharaka Hanuman Stotram', the seer is Vibhishana, the deity is Hanuman; by the grace of Sri Hanuman, the rescuer from all calamity, for the removal of all my misfortunes and for success and favourable outcomes in all undertakings, it is applied in recitation.
Verse 2
वामे करे वैरिभिदं वहन्तं
शैलं परे शृङ्खलहारिटङ्कम्।
ददानमच्छच्छविमञ्जनाभं
भजे ज्वलत्कुण्डलमाञ्जनेयम्॥१॥
Vaame kare vairibhidam vahantam,
Shailam pare shrinkhalahaaritankam,
Dadaanam acchacchavim anjanaabham,
Bhaje jvalat-kundalam aanjaneyam. (1)
I worship Anjaneya (Hanuman) with blazing earrings, who carries in his left hand that which splits his enemies, and in the other the mountain (Sanjivani), holding the bright crag — of pure, dark, collyrium-like radiance.
Verse 3
संवीतकौपीनमुदञ्चितागुं
समुज्ज्वलन्मौञ्जिमथोपवीतम्।
सकुण्डलं लम्बिशिखासमेतं
तमाञ्जनेयं शरणं प्रपद्ये॥२॥
Samveeta-kaupeenam udanchitaagum,
Samujjvalan-maunjim athopaveetam,
Sakundalam lambi-shikhaa-sametam,
Tam aanjaneyam sharanam prapadye. (2)
I take refuge in that Anjaneya, clad in a loincloth, with raised limbs, gleaming sacred girdle and thread, wearing earrings, with his long lock of hair flowing.
Verse 4
आपन्नाखिललोकार्तिहारिणे श्रीहनूमते।
अकस्मादागतोत्पातनाशनाय नमो नमः॥३॥
Aapannaakhila-lokaarti-haarine shree-hanoomate,
Akasmaad-aagatotpaata-naashanaaya namo namah. (3)
To Sri Hanuman, the remover of the distress of all afflicted worlds, the destroyer of sudden, unexpected calamities — salutations, again and again.
Verse 5
सीतावियुक्तश्रीरामशोकदुःखभयापह।
तापत्रितयसंहारिन्नाञ्जनेय नमोऽस्तु ते॥४॥
Seetaaviyukta-shreeraama-shoka-duhkha-bhayaapaha,
Taapatritaya-samhaarinn-aanjaneya namo'stu te. (4)
O Anjaneya, remover of the grief, sorrow and fear of Sri Rama when separated from Sita, destroyer of the threefold suffering — salutations be to you.
Verse 6
आधिव्याधिमहामारीग्रहपीडापहारिणे।
प्राणापहर्त्रे दैत्यानां रामप्राणात्मने नमः॥५॥
Aadhi-vyaadhi-mahaamaaree-grahapeedaa-pahaarine,
Praanaapahartre daityaanaam raamapraanaatmane namah. (5)
To the remover of mental anguish, disease, epidemics and the torment of malefic planets; to the one who takes away the life of demons and who is the very life-breath of Rama — salutations.
Verse 7
संसारसागरावर्तकर्तव्यभ्रान्तचेतसाम्।
शरणागतमर्त्यानां शरण्याय नमोऽस्तु ते॥६॥
Samsaarasaagaraavarta-kartavya-bhraantachetasaam,
Sharanaagata-martyaanaam sharanyaaya namo'stu te. (6)
To you who are the refuge of mortals who, bewildered by their duties, are caught in the whirlpool of the ocean of worldly existence and have come for shelter — salutations.
Verse 8
वज्रदेहाय कालाग्निरुद्रायामिततेजसे।
ब्रह्मास्त्रस्तम्भनायास्मै नमः श्रीरुद्रमूर्तये॥७॥
Vajradehaaya kaalaagni-rudraayaamitatejase,
Brahmaastra-stambhanaayaasmai namah shree-rudramoortaye. (7)
To the one with a thunderbolt body, who is Rudra of the fire of time (Kalagni), of immeasurable splendour, who can arrest even the Brahmastra — salutations to this very form of Rudra.
Verse 9
रामेष्टं करुणापूर्णं हनूमन्तं भयापहम्।
शत्रुनाशकरं भीमं सर्वाभीष्टप्रदायकम्॥८॥
Raameshtam karunaapoornam hanoomantam bhayaapaham,
Shatru-naashakaram bheemam sarvaabheeshta-pradaayakam. (8)
Hanuman, beloved of Rama, full of compassion, remover of fear, destroyer of enemies, formidable, the bestower of all that is desired —
Verse 10
कारागृहे प्रयाणे वा सङ्ग्रामे शत्रुसङ्कटे।
जले स्थले तथाऽऽकाशे वाहनेषु चतुष्पथे॥९॥
Kaaraagrihe prayaane vaa sangraame shatrusankate,
Jale sthale tathaa''kaashe vaahaneshu chatushpathe. (9)
in prison, on a journey, in battle, in danger from enemies, in water, on land, in the sky, in vehicles, at the crossroads,
Verse 11
गजसिंहमहाव्याघ्रचोरभीषणकानने।
ये स्मरन्ति हनूमन्तं तेषां नास्ति विपत् क्वचित्॥१०॥
Gaja-simha-mahaavyaaghra-chora-bheeshana-kaanane,
Ye smaranti hanoomantam teshaam naasti vipat kvachit. (10)
in a fearsome forest of elephants, lions, great tigers and thieves — for those who remember Hanuman, there is no danger anywhere.
Verse 12
सर्ववानरमुख्यानां प्राणभूतात्मने नमः।
शरण्याय वरेण्याय वायुपुत्राय ते नमः॥११॥
Sarva-vaanara-mukhyaanaam praanabhootaatmane namah,
Sharanyaaya varenyaaya vaayuputraaya te namah. (11)
To the one who is the very life-soul of all the great vanaras; to you who are the refuge, the most excellent one, the son of the Wind — salutations.
Verse 13
प्रदोषे वा प्रभाते वा ये स्मरन्त्यञ्जनासुतम्।
अर्थसिद्धिं जयं कीर्तिं प्राप्नुवन्ति न संशयः॥१२॥
Pradoshe vaa prabhaate vaa ye smaranty-anjanaasutam,
Arthasiddhim jayam keertim praapnuvanti na samshayah. (12)
Those who, at dusk or at dawn, remember the son of Anjana, attain wealth, victory and fame — there is no doubt of this.
Verse 14
जप्त्वा स्तोत्रमिदं मन्त्रं प्रतिवारं पठेन्नरः।
राजस्थाने सभास्थाने प्राप्ते वादे लभेज्जयम्॥१३॥
Japtvaa stotram idam mantram prativaaram pathennarah,
Raajasthaane sabhaasthaane praapte vaade labhejjayam. (13)
Having recited this hymn and mantra, the person who reads it each time gains victory when facing a king's court, an assembly, or a dispute.
Verse 15
विभीषणकृतं स्तोत्रं यः पठेत् प्रयतो नरः।
सर्वापद्भ्यो विमुच्येत नात्र कार्या विचारणा॥१४॥
Vibheeshanakritam stotram yah pathet prayato narah,
Sarvaapadbhyo vimuchyeta naatra kaaryaa vichaaranaa. (14)
The person who, self-controlled, recites this stotra composed by Vibhishana is freed from all calamities — there is no need for deliberation in this matter.
Verse 16
मर्कटेश महोत्साह सर्वशोकनिवारक।
शत्रून् संहर मां रक्ष श्रियं दापय भो हरे॥१५॥
Markateesha mahotsaaha sarvashoka-nivaaraka,
Shatroon samhara maam raksha shriyam daapaya bho hare. (15)
O Lord of monkeys, of great vigour, remover of all sorrow — destroy my enemies, protect me, and grant me prosperity, O Hari (Hanuman).
Verse 17
॥ इति श्रीसुदर्शनसंहितायां विभीषणकृतं सर्वापदुद्धारकं श्रीहनुमत्स्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
Iti shree-sudarshana-samhitaayaam vibheeshanakritam sarvaapaduddhaarakam shree-hanumat-stotram sampoornam.
