Bhagavad Gita Chapter 11, Verse 49 · Sage Veda Vyasa (Mahabharata, Bhishma Parva) · Ancient (text compiled c. 5th–2nd century BCE)
In the eleventh chapter, Vishvarupa Darshana Yoga, after Arjuna has beheld the overwhelming and fearsome universal form and pleaded to see the Lord's gentler shape, Krishna reassures him. He tells Arjuna not to fear or be bewildered and invites him, calm and gladdened, to look once more upon the Lord's familiar form.

Devotees treasure this verse as the Lord's own promise of comfort, holding that whoever takes refuge in Him need never be overcome by fear — for the same Lord whose majesty fills the cosmos tenderly steadies the heart of His devotee.
