Brihaspati is the Guru of the gods (Devaguru) and lord of the planet Jupiter — the giver of wisdom, righteousness, prosperity and good fortune. Worshipped especially on Thursdays alongside Lord Vishnu (whose day Thursday is), his aarti is sung with offerings of yellow — bananas, gram and jaggery — to win his benevolent grace.

A strong, pleased Brihaspati is said to bless a person with wisdom, a good marriage, worthy children and lasting prosperity. Devotees keep the Thursday fast, offer yellow items and bananas, and sing this aarti to strengthen Jupiter and win the Devaguru's grace.

Meaning:ૐ, હે બૃહસ્પતિ દેવ (દેવગુરુ, ગુરુ ગ્રહ), આપની જય હો; ક્ષણે ક્ષણે હું આપને કેળાં, ફળ અને સૂકા મેવાનો ભોગ અર્પણ કરું છું.

තුම පූරණ පරමාත්මා තුම අන්තර්යාමී . ජගතපිතා ජගදීශ්වර තුම සබකේ ස්වාමී ..

Meaning:આપ પૂર્ણ પરમાત્મા છો, સૌના અંતર્યામી; જગતના પિતા, બ્રહ્માંડના સ્વામી, સૌના માલિક.

චරණාමෘත නිජ නිර්මල සබ පාතක හර්තා . සකල මනෝරථ දායක කෘපා කරෝ භර්තා ..

Meaning:આપના ચરણોનું અમૃત પવિત્ર છે અને દરેક પાપ ધોઈ નાખે છે; દરેક ઇચ્છા પૂર્ણ કરનાર — હે પ્રભુ, કૃપા કરો.

ධන අර්පණ කර ජෝ ජන ශරණ පඩ़ේ . ප්රභු ප්රකට තබ හෝකර ආකර ද්වාර ඛඩ़ේ ..

Meaning:જે પોતાનું ધન અર્પણ કરી આપની શરણમાં પડે છે — ત્યારે પ્રભુ પ્રગટ થઈ તેના દ્વારે સ્વયં ઊભા રહે છે.

දීනදයාල දයානිධි භක්තන හිතකාරී . පාප දෝෂ සබ හර්තා භව බන්ධන හාරී ..

Dinadayala dayanidhi bhaktana hitakari Papa dosha saba harta bhava bandhana hari

Meaning:દીન પર દયાળુ, કરુણાના સાગર, ભક્તોના હિતકારી; સર્વ પાપ અને દોષ હરનાર, સંસારી બંધન તોડનાર.

සකල මනෝරථ දායක සබ සංශය හාරෝ . විෂය විකාර මිටාඕ සන්තන සුඛකාරී ..

Meaning:દરેક ઇચ્છા પૂર્ણ કરનાર, સર્વ સંશય દૂર કરનાર; ઇન્દ્રિયોની લાલસાનો નાશ કરો, હે સંતોને આનંદ આપનાર.

Light a lamp (ghee or camphor) and, holding it, perform the aarti by circling it before the deity while singing, ideally with a bell. Offer flowers and prasad, and conclude by taking the aarti blessing (passing the hands over the flame and to the eyes). Sing with devotion and a steady heart.
