In the bija-mantra tradition, Kleem is exalted as the Kama beej, the seed of attraction and desire in its purest, divine sense. It is composed of 'Ka' (Kamadeva/Krishna), 'La' (contentment and the earth element), 'Ee' (Mahamaya) and the bindu. Because Krishna is celebrated as the all-attractive Lord who draws every heart, and Kamadeva governs love, Kleem became central to mantras of divine love; it likewise serves as a tender seed of grace in the mantras of Kali.

Devotees say that sincere repetition of Kleem with a pure heart melts coldness and estrangement, kindling warmth and devotion where there was none. Sit in a clean, calm space before an image of Krishna or the Devi. Settle the breath and chant 'Om Kleem Krishnaya Namah' (or simply 'Kleem') 108 times with a tulsi mala (for Krishna) or rudraksha mala. Pronounce Ka-Lee-m and let the bindu hum at the heart. Keep the intention pure and selfless — Kleem works best when chanted for divine love, harmony and the well-being of all, never to control or harm another. A 40-day practice with devotion is traditional, and it pairs beautifully with the Hare Krishna mahamantra.
