The Ram Raksha Stotra was revealed, according to tradition, by Lord Shiva to Sage Budha Kaushika in a dream; on waking, the sage wrote it down. This verse near its close is a rapturous declaration of surrender, repeating Rama's name in every Sanskrit case to express that Rama is everything to the devotee — victor, protector, refuge and master.

The Ram Raksha Stotra promises that those guarded by Rama's names cannot even be seen by hostile beings of earth, sky or netherworld. രാമോ രാജമണിഃ സദാ വിജയതേ രാമം രമേശം ഭജേ രാമേണാഭിഹതാ നിശാചരചമൂ രാമായ തസ്മൈ നമഃ । രാമാന്നാസ്തി പരായണം പരതരം രാമസ്യ ദാസോഽസ്മ്യഹം രാമേ ചിത്തലയഃ സദാ ഭവതു മേ ഭോ രാമ മാമുദ്ധര ॥

അർഥം:राजाओं में मणि-स्वरूप राम सदा विजयी होते हैं; मैं रमा (लक्ष्मी) के स्वामी राम का भजन करता हूँ। राम के द्वारा राक्षसों की सेना का संहार हुआ; उन राम को मैं नमस्कार करता हूँ। राम से बढ़कर कोई परम आश्रय नहीं; मैं राम का दास हूँ। मेरा चित्त सदा राम में लीन रहे; हे राम, मेरा उद्धार कीजिए।
