The Shanmukha Pancharatnam is traditionally ascribed to Sringeri Acharya. A "five-gem" hymn to Shanmukha (Lord Murugan) — five jewel-verses adoring the six-faced Lord, son of Shiva, who rides the peacock and bears the vel (spear).

It is said that to recite the Shanmukha Pancharatnam with a sincere and devoted heart is to draw near to the grace of the Lord, who never forsakes those who lovingly call upon Him.

ഏതെങ്കിലും വരിയിലോ ▶ ബട്ടണിലോ തൊട്ട് കേൾക്കൂ
ഓം ശ്രീഗണേശായ നമഃ । സ്ഫുരദ്വിദ്യുദ്വല്ലീവലയിതമഗോത്സങ്ഗവസതിം ഭവാപ്പിത്തപ്ലുഷ്ടാനമിതകരുണാജീവനവശാത് । അവന്തം ഭക്താനാമുദയകരമമ്ഭോധര ഇതി പ്രമോദാദാവാസം വ്യതനുത മയൂരോഽസ്യ സവിധേ ॥ ൧॥ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യോ യോ ഭവേജ്ജ്ഞാനശക്ത്യാ സിദ്ധം തസ്മിന്ദേവസേനാപതിത്വമ് । ഇത്ഥം ശക്തിം ദേവസേനാപതിത്വം സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യോ ബിഭ്രദേഷ വ്യനക്തി ॥ ൨॥ പക്ഷോഽനിര്വചനീയോ ദക്ഷിണ ഇതി ധിയമശേഷജനതായാഃ । ജനയതി ബര്ഹീ ദക്ഷിണനിര്വചനായോഗ്യപക്ഷയുക്തോഽയമ് ॥ ൩॥ യഃ പക്ഷമനിര്വചനം യാതി സമവലമ്ബ്യ ദൃശ്യതേ തേന । ബ്രഹ്മ പരാത്പരമമലം സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യാഭിധം പരം ജ്യോതിഃ ॥ ൪॥ ഷണ്മുഖം ഹസന്മുഖം സുഖാമ്ബുരാശിഖേലനം സന്മുനീന്ദ്രസേവ്യമാനപാദപങ്കജം സദാ । മന്മഥാദിശത്രുവര്ഗനാശകം കൃപാമ്ബുധിം മന്മഹേ മുദാ ഹൃദി പ്രപന്നകല്പഭൂരുഹമ് ॥ ൫॥ ഇതി ജഗദ്ഗുരു ശൃങ്ഗേരീപീഠാധിപ ശ്രീചന്ദ്രശേഖരഭാരതീ ശ്രീപാദൈഃ വിരചിതാ ശ്രീഷണ്മുഖപഞ്ചരത്നസ്തുതിഃ സമാപ്താ ।
oṃ śrīgaṇeśāya namaḥ | sphuradvidyudvallīvalayitamagotsaṅgavasatiṃ bhavāppittapluṣṭānamitakaruṇājīvanavaśāt | avantaṃ bhaktānāmudayakaramambhodhara iti pramodādāvāsaṃ vyatanuta mayūro'sya savidhe || 1|| subrahmaṇyo yo bhavejjñānaśaktyā siddhaṃ tasmindevasenāpatitvam | itthaṃ śaktiṃ devasenāpatitvaṃ subrahmaṇyo bibhradeṣa vyanakti || 2|| pakṣo'nirvacanīyo dakṣiṇa iti dhiyamaśeṣajanatāyāḥ | janayati barhī dakṣiṇanirvacanāyogyapakṣayukto'yam || 3|| yaḥ pakṣamanirvacanaṃ yāti samavalambya dṛśyate tena | brahma parātparamamalaṃ subrahmaṇyābhidhaṃ paraṃ jyotiḥ || 4|| ṣaṇmukhaṃ hasanmukhaṃ sukhāmburāśikhelanaṃ sanmunīndrasevyamānapādapaṅkajaṃ sadā | manmathādiśatruvarganāśakaṃ kṛpāmbudhiṃ manmahe mudā hṛdi prapannakalpabhūruham || 5|| iti jagadguru śṛṅgerīpīṭhādhipa śrīcandraśekharabhāratī śrīpādaiḥ viracitā śrīṣaṇmukhapañcaratnastutiḥ samāptā |
അർഥം:षण्मुख (भगवान मुरुगन) की "पञ्चरत्न" स्तुति — पाँच रत्न-श्लोक, जो षण्मुख, शिव-पुत्र, मयूरवाहन व वेलधारी प्रभु को वंदन करते हैं।

षण्मुख पञ्चरत्नम् പാരായണ വിധി
Bathe and sit facing east before an image of the deity. Light a lamp and recite the Shanmukha Pancharatnam slowly and with devotion. It may be chanted daily, or especially during Skanda Shashti and Krittika. Conclude with a prayer for grace and protection.
