✦ Meaning
Verse 99 is part of the hymn's phalashruti — its statement of fruits. It declares that the devotee who worships the Divine Mother gains wisdom and wealth (Saraswati and Lakshmi) like Brahma and Vishnu, beauty that rivals the gods, and, while still living, the breaking of all bondage. Such a one becomes a jivanmukta who tastes the Supreme Bliss (Parananda) here and now. The verse is cherished as a promise of both worldly fullness and liberation through devotion to Devi.
Origin & Story
Soundarya Lahari, Verse 99 · Adi Shankaracharya · c. 8th century CE
Near the conclusion of the Soundarya Lahari, this verse forms part of the phalashruti, the hymn's account of the fruits won by the Mother's devotee. It gathers together worldly blessings and liberation-in-life as the rewards of devotion and is set, like the rest, in the Shikharini metre.
✦ As told in scripture
It is said that sincere devotees of the Mother have been seen to gain the favour of Lakshmi and Saraswati together — prosperity and learning — and yet remain inwardly free, tasting even in the midst of the world the Supreme Bliss this verse describes.

Meaning:The devotee who worships You sports at ease with Saraswati and Lakshmi (the very wisdom and wealth that are the consorts of Brahma and Vishnu), becoming their equal; by his charming form he can even unsettle the famed fidelity of Rati. Living long, yet with the bondage of the fettered soul wholly destroyed, he relishes here and now that essence which is called Supreme Bliss.
