ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಾಲನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ▶ ಬಟನ್ ಒತ್ತಿ ಕೇಳಿ
ವಿದ್ಯಾ ದದಾತಿ ವಿನಯಂ ವಿನಯಾದ್ಯಾತಿ ಪಾತ್ರತಾಮ್। ಪಾತ್ರತ್ವಾದ್ಧನಮಾಪ್ನೋತಿ ಧನಾದ್ಧರ್ಮಂ ತತಃ ಸುಖಮ್॥
vidyā dadāti vinayaṁ vinayād yāti pātratām। pātratvād dhanam āpnoti dhanād dharmaṁ tataḥ sukham॥
ಅರ್ಥ:विद्या विनय (नम्रता) देती है; विनय से पात्रता प्राप्त होती है; पात्रता से धन मिलता है; धन से धर्म होता है और धर्म से सुख की प्राप्ति होती है। यह एक ही श्लोक सच्ची विद्या से आरम्भ होकर स्थायी सुख तक पहुँचने वाली जीवन-सीढ़ी का वर्णन करता है।
