Traditional Lakshmi pranama / stuti verse · Unknown (traditional) · Classical / Puranic tradition
This verse belongs to the cherished tradition of Lakshmi pranama-mantras offered at the close of Her worship. By saluting the Goddess as the giver of boons to all the gods and the beloved of Vishnu, and by asking for the same refuge She grants to Her surrendered devotees, the worshipper rises above the mere request for wealth to seek the Mother's supreme grace. It is widely recited during Lakshmi puja and Diwali.

Devotees hold that Lakshmi, the bestower of boons even to the gods, withholds nothing from those who take refuge in Her with love; many recount that sincere worship sealed with this prayer brought not only prosperity but lasting peace and the sense of being sheltered by the Divine Mother.
