Origin & Story
Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10, Verse 10 · Sage Veda Vyasa (Mahabharata, Bhishma Parva) · Ancient (text compiled c. 5th–2nd century BCE)
In the tenth chapter, Vibhuti Yoga, Krishna reveals his divine glories and the source of all creation. Before describing his infinite manifestations, he assures Arjuna of his loving response to devotion: to those who worship him constantly and with love, he himself grants the inner wisdom (buddhi-yoga) by which they come to him — a luminous promise of grace at the heart of the chapter.
✦ As told in scripture
Devotees through the ages have cherished this verse as the Lord's personal pledge, and the tradition holds that wherever a heart worships him with steady love, the promised inner wisdom dawns of its own accord — saints recounting that such grace, unsought by intellect alone, gently guided them home to God.
