The aarti references Hanuman's descent into Paataal (the underworld) to rescue Ram and Lakshman from the demon Ahiravan. Despite being in the realm of death itself, Hanuman's devotion was so powerful that he tore Ahiravan apart and brought Ram and Lakshman back to the living world — a miracle that demonstrates that no force, not even death, can stand against pure devotion.

ଅର୍ଥ:Perform the aarti of dear Hanuman, who is the art of Lord Raghunath in crushing the wicked.
ଜାକେ ବଲ ସେ ଗିରିଵର କାଂପେ। ରୋଗ ଦୋଷ ଜାକେ ନିକଟ ନ ଝାଂକେ॥
Jake Bal Se Girivar Kampe Rog Dosh Jake Nikat Na Jhanke
ଅର୍ଥ:By whose strength great mountains tremble. Diseases and defects dare not come near him.
ଅଂଜନି ପୁତ୍ର ମହା ବଲଦାଈ। ସଂତନ କେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ସଦା ସହାଈ॥
Anjani Putra Maha Baldaai Santan Ke Prabhu Sada Sahaai
ଅର୍ଥ:Son of Anjani, great bestower of strength. Always the helper of saints and devotees.
ଦେ ବୀରା ରଘୁନାଥ ପଠାଏ। ଲଂକା ଜାରି ସିଯା ସୁଧି ଲାଏ॥
De Bira Raghunath Pathaaye Lanka Jaari Siya Sudhi Laaye
ଅର୍ଥ:The brave one, sent by Lord Raghunath, burned Lanka and brought news of Sita.
ଲଂକା ସୋ କୋଟ ସମୁଦ୍ର ସୀ ଖାଈ। ଜାତ ପଵନସୁତ ବାର ନ ଲାଈ॥
Lanka So Kot Samudra Si Khaai Jaat Pavansut Baar Na Laai
ଅର୍ଥ:Lanka's fort with an ocean-like moat — the son of Wind crossed it in an instant.
ଲଂକା ଜାରି ଅସୁର ସଂହାରେ। ସିଯାରାମଜୀ କେ କାଜ ସଂଵାରେ॥
Lanka Jaari Asur Sanhaare SiyaRamji Ke Kaaj Sanvaare
ଅର୍ଥ:He burned Lanka and destroyed the demons. He accomplished all the tasks of Sita and Ram.
ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମଣ ମୂର୍ଛିତ ପଡ़େ ସକାରେ। ଆଣି ସଂଜୀଵନ ପ୍ରାଣ ଉବାରେ॥
Lakshman Murchhit Pade Sakaare Aani Sanjeevan Praan Ubaare
ଅର୍ଥ:When Lakshman lay unconscious at dawn, he brought the Sanjeevani herb and saved his life.
ପୈଠୀ ପାତାଲ ତୋରି ଜମ କାରେ। ଅହିରାଵଣ କୀ ଭୁଜା ଉଖାରେ॥
Paithi Paataal Tori Jam Kaare Ahiravan Ki Bhuja Ukhaare
ଅର୍ଥ:He entered the underworld and broke the chains of death. He tore off Ahiravan's arms.
ବାଏଂ ଭୁଜା ଅସୁର ଦଲ ମାରେ। ଦାହିନେ ଭୁଜା ସଂତଜନ ତାରେ॥
Baayein Bhuja Asur Dal Maare Daahinein Bhuja Santjan Taare
ଅର୍ଥ:With the left arm he slays armies of demons. With the right arm he saves the saints.
ସୁର ନର ମୁନି ଜନ ଆରତୀ ଉତାରେଂ। ଜଯ ଜଯ ଜଯ ହନୁମାନ ଉଚାରେଂ॥
Sur Nar Muni Jan Aarti Utaarein Jai Jai Jai Hanuman Uchaarein
ଅର୍ଥ:Gods, humans and sages perform his aarti. All chant: Victory, Victory, Victory to Hanuman!
କଂଚନ ଥାର କପୂର ଲୌ ଛାଈ। ଆରତୀ କରତ ଅଂଜନା ମାଈ॥
Kanchan Thaar Kapur Lau Chhaai Aarti Karat Anjana Maai
ଅର୍ଥ:On a golden plate, the glow of camphor spreads. Mother Anjana performs the aarti.
ଜୋ ହନୁମାନଜୀ କୀ ଆରତୀ ଗାଵେ। ବସି ବୈକୁଂଠ ପରମ ପଦ ପାଵେ॥
Jo Hanumanji Ki Aarti Gaave Basi Baikunth Param Pad Paave
ଅର୍ଥ:Whoever sings this aarti of Hanuman-ji shall reside in Vaikuntha and attain the supreme state.

हनुमान आरती ପାଠ ବିଧି
Light a diya (oil lamp) or camphor on a golden or steel plate. Stand or sit before a Hanuman idol or image. Sing the aarti while gently waving the lit plate in a clockwise circular motion before the deity. Ring a bell with the other hand. At the end, share the aarti flame with all present — each person waving their hands over the flame and touching their forehead.
