અર્થ:विद्वान् ही दूसरे विद्वान् के परिश्रम को सच्चे रूप में जानता है, जैसे बाँझ स्त्री प्रसव की तीव्र वेदना को कभी नहीं जान सकती। यह श्लोक बताता है कि कठिन परिश्रम से अर्जित विद्या के मूल्य को केवल वही समझ सकता है जिसने स्वयं वही श्रम किया हो, क्योंकि सहानुभूति समान अनुभव से ही उत्पन्न होती है।
