The Durga Dwatrimsha Namamala — the 'garland of the thirty-two names of Durga' — is one of the most popular protective hymns of the Shakta tradition, recited alongside the Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam). Its names recall the Mother as the slayer of the demon Durgama and the conqueror of every 'durga' — every fort, every difficulty, every danger that is hard to cross.
