Chandra (Moon) Mahadasha
चंद्र महादशा
The Chandra Mahadasha is ten years ruled by the mind itself. The Moon governs emotions, the mother, home, the public and inner contentment — so these years turn life inward and homeward even while they can bring great public popularity. Domestic changes, motherhood or deepened bonds with the mother, and swings of emotional weather are its signature.
✨ When Moon is strong
A strong Moon (own sign Cancer, exalted in Taurus, bright and well-aspected) makes this one of the gentlest and most nourishing periods: peace of mind, popularity, comforts, travel across water, growth through the public — audiences, customers, voters — and happiness through the mother, home and children. Intuition sharpens and relationships soften.
🌑 When Moon is afflicted
A weak or afflicted Moon can make the decade emotionally turbulent — anxiety, moodiness, disturbed sleep, over-sensitivity to others' opinions, and worries around the mother's health or the home. Because the Moon changes sign every 2¼ days, the period is also coloured strongly by each antardasha; the low phases pass, but they must be managed with routine and rest.
