Ketu Mahadasha
केतु महादशा
The Ketu Mahadasha is seven years of the severing flag — the moksha-karaka whose work is detachment. Ketu loosens whatever binds: attachments, roles, certainties. For the spiritually inclined these are luminous years of insight and practice; for the purely worldly they can feel like the ground quietly dissolving underfoot — until they learn what Ketu is teaching.
✨ When Ketu (South Node) is strong
Well-disposed, Ketu grants penetrating intuition, spiritual breakthroughs, success in research, occult sciences, mathematics, medicine or moksha-oriented paths, and a blessed indifference to what others think. Losses reveal themselves as prunings; what remains after Ketu's years is what was actually real, and life feels lighter for it.
🌑 When Ketu (South Node) is afflicted
Afflicted, the period scatters focus and confidence — directionless phases, sudden exits (jobs, places, people), mysterious health complaints, accidents, and a rootless restlessness. Fighting the detachment makes it worse. The classical prescription is Ganesha worship, service, and voluntarily simplifying before Ketu simplifies for you.
