Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam) Chapter 11 — Narayani Stuti, verses 23-25; from the Markandeya Purana · Sage Markandeya (traditional) · Ancient (the Devi Mahatmyam is dated to c. 5th-6th century CE)

Within the Narayani Stuti, after praising each cosmic form of the Goddess with the refrain 'Narayani namostute', the gods turn to direct prayers for protection. 'Sarva-svarupe Sarveshe' begins this protective sequence, calling on the Devi who is the form and ruler of all to save them from fear, and invoking her serene three-eyed face and her flaming trident — the destroyer of all asuras — to guard them on every side.

ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ

Devotees facing danger, illness or persistent fear traditionally repeat 'Sarva-svarupe Sarveshe' as a kavacha (armour) mantra, visualising the Mother's trident encircling them. Many testify that this verse, recited with faith, dispels nightmares, unseen dangers and panic, fulfilling the Goddess's own pledge in the Devi Mahatmyam to shield those who remember her.

It means 'O you who are the form of all, the Mistress of all, endowed with all powers.' It addresses Durga as the all-pervading reality and supreme ruler, before pleading with her to save the devotee from every fear.
It is from the Narayani Stuti in Chapter 11 of the Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam), part of the Markandeya Purana, sung by the gods after the Goddess slew the asura Shumbha.
Because it directly prays 'bhayebhyas-trahi no devi' — 'O Devi, save us from all fears' — and invokes the Goddess's three-eyed face and asura-slaying trident as a shield. It is treasured as a concise, potent prayer for fearlessness.
Both are fierce, protective forms of the same Great Goddess (Durga). Katyayani is the warrior daughter of sage Katyayana; Bhadrakali is the auspicious yet terrible Kali. Here they are invoked as aspects of the one Devi whose face and trident guard the devotee.
