The Trailokya Mangala Kavacham is a protective armour of Lord Krishna belonging to the Pancharatra Agama tradition, framed as a dialogue between Sage Narada and Sanatkumara. According to tradition, the armour was first revealed by Lord Vishnu, passed down through Brahma and Shiva to Sage Durvasa, who imparted it in the household of Nanda and Yashoda, where it was used to protect the infant Krishna from demons such as Putana. By the power of this same Kavacha, Krishna is said to have become the master of the three worlds — hence its name, Trailokya-mangala.

It is traditionally told that this very armour shielded the infant Krishna in Gokula from the demoness Putana and the many asuras sent by Kamsa — and that to this day a devotee who wears it with faith remains untouched by danger, calamity or evil, wrapped in the same grace that guarded the divine child of Vrindavana.

பொருள்:Sri Narada said: O Lord, God of gods, omniscient, ocean of compassion — declare to me, O Master, the armour named Trailokya-mangala (auspicious for the three worlds).
ஶ்ரீஸநத்குமார உவாச — ஶ்ரு'ணு வக்ஷ்யாமி விப்ரேந்த்ர கவசம் பரமாத்புதம்। யத்த்ரு'த்வா பகவாந்க்ரு'ஷ்ணோ பபூவ த்ரிஜகத்ப்ரபுஃ॥
Shri Sanatkumara Uvacha — Shrinu Vakshyami Viprendra Kavacham Paramadbhutam Yad Dhritva Bhagavan Krishno Babhuva Trijagat Prabhuh
பொருள்:Sri Sanatkumara said: Listen, O best of the wise — I shall declare the most wonderful armour, by wearing which the Lord Krishna became the master of the three worlds.
ௐ அஸ்ய ஶ்ரீத்ரைலோக்யமங்கலகவசஸ்ய நாராயண ரு'ஷிஃ। அநுஷ்டுப் சந்தஃ। ஶ்ரீக்ரு'ஷ்ணோ தேவதா। ஶ்ரீக்ரு'ஷ்ணப்ரீத்யர்தே ஜபே விநியோகஃ॥

பொருள்:Om. Of this Shri Trailokya-mangala Kavacha, the sage is Narayana, the metre is Anushtup, the deity is Shri Krishna; it is applied in recitation for the pleasure of Shri Krishna.
ப்ரணவோ மே ஶிரஃ பாது பாலம் பாது யஶோதுஹஃ। நேத்ரயுக்மம் ஸதா பாது க்லீம் க்ரு'ஷ்ணஃ கமலேக்ஷணஃ॥
Pranavo Me Shirah Patu Phalam Patu Yashoduhah Netrayugmam Sada Patu Klim Krishnah Kamalekshanah
பொருள்:May the Pranava (Om) protect my head; may the son of Yashoda protect my forehead; may 'Klim Krishna', the lotus-eyed, ever protect my two eyes.

பொருள்:May the syllable 'Klim' ever protect my two ears; may 'Klim Shri Govinda', the lord of Lakshmi, ever protect my nose.
ஜிஹ்வாம் மே பாது கோவிந்தோ வதநம் மதுஸூதநஃ। கண்டம் பாது ஸதா க்ரு'ஷ்ணஃ ஸ்கந்தௌ பாது கதாக்ரஜஃ॥
Jihvam Me Patu Govindo Vadanam Madhusudanah Kantham Patu Sada Krishnah Skandhau Patu Gadagrajah
பொருள்:May Govinda protect my tongue, and Madhusudana my face; may Krishna ever protect my throat, and Gadagraja my shoulders.
புஜௌ மே பாது ஸர்வேஶோ ஹஸ்தௌ பாது கதாதரஃ। வக்ஷஃஸ்தலம் ஸதா பாது க்லீம் க்ரு'ஷ்ணஃ க்லீம் ஹரிஃ ஸ்வயம்॥

பொருள்:May the Lord of all protect my arms, and the mace-bearer my hands; may 'Klim Krishna, Klim Hari' himself ever protect my chest.

பொருள்:May Gopala protect my heart, and ever protect my two flanks; may Padmanabha protect my navel, and Gadagraja my waist.
ஊரூ மே பாது கோவிந்தோ ஜாநுநீ மதுஸூதநஃ। ஜங்கே பாது ஜகந்நாதஃ பாதௌ கோபீஜநப்ரியஃ॥

பொருள்:May Govinda protect my thighs, and Madhusudana my knees; may Jagannatha protect my shins, and the beloved of the gopis my feet.
ஸர்வாங்கம் பாது மே க்ரு'ஷ்ணோ கோபீஜநமநோஹரஃ। ௐ நமோ பகவதே வாஸுதேவாய ஸர்வதோऽவது॥
Sarvangam Patu Me Krishno Gopijana Manoharah Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Sarvato Avatu
பொருள்:May Krishna, the enchanter of the gopis, protect all my limbs; may 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya' protect me on every side.
ப்ராச்யாம் பாது ஹ்ரு'ஷீகேஶோ தக்ஷிணே மதுஸூதநஃ। ப்ரதீச்யாம் புண்டரீகாக்ஷஃ உதீச்யாம் வாமநஃ ஸதா॥
Prachyam Patu Hrishikesho Dakshine Madhusudanah Pratichyam Pundarikakshah Udichyam Vamanah Sada
பொருள்:In the East may Hrishikesha protect me, in the South Madhusudana; in the West the lotus-eyed one, and in the North ever Vamana.
இதி தே கதிதம் விப்ர கவசம் பரமாத்புதம்। யோ தாரயேத்பக்தியுக்தோ முச்யதே ஸர்வஸம்கடாத்॥
Iti Te Kathitam Vipra Kavacham Paramadbhutam Yo Dharayed Bhakti Yukto Muchyate Sarva Sankatat
பொருள்:Thus, O sage, I have declared to you the most wonderful armour. Whoever wears it, full of devotion, is freed from all troubles.
த்ரிகாலம் யஃ படேந்நித்யம் ஶ்ரத்தயா ச ஸமந்விதஃ। ஸர்வாந்காமாநவாப்நோதி க்ரு'ஷ்ணஸாயுஜ்யமாப்நுயாத்॥
Trikalam Yah Pathen Nityam Shraddhaya Cha Samanvitah Sarvan Kamanavapnoti Krishna Sayujyam Apnuyat
பொருள்:Whoever recites it daily at the three junctures, endowed with faith, obtains all his desires and attains union with Krishna.

Trailokya Mangala Krishna Kavacham பாராயண முறை
After bathing, sit facing east or north in a clean place before an image of Lord Krishna. Light a lamp and offer tulsi leaves and flowers. Recite the Viniyoga, then chant the Kavacham with devotion, mentally placing the Pranava, the Klim bija and each name of Krishna upon the corresponding part of the body and the four directions. For the full traditional fruit, recite it thrice daily (Trikala) with faith. Conclude by surrendering to Krishna and praying for his protection and grace.
