कुबेर देव Mantras
Treasurer of the gods, lord and guardian of wealth.
Lord Kubera — the treasurer of the gods (Dhanadhipati) and guardian of the North — presides over wealth, treasure and prosperity. Where Goddess Lakshmi grants the flow of wealth, Kubera guards and multiplies its store, so the two are worshipped together, especially on Dhanteras and Diwali. His mantra and the Lakshmi prayers of abundance follow.

The Legend of Lord Kubera
Kubera, the treasurer of the gods, grew proud of his boundless wealth and wished to display it before all. He invited Lord Shiva to a grand feast — but Shiva, knowing his pride, sent in his place the little Ganesha, warning that the boy was always hungry. Kubera only smiled, certain that his endless kitchens could satisfy any appetite.
But as the feast began the child Ganesha ate, and ate, and ate — every dish, every store, the contents of every granary and treasury in Kubera's golden city of Alaka — and still he cried that he was hungry, and began to eye Kubera himself. His pride shattered and terrified, Kubera ran to Lord Shiva and fell at his feet, begging him to satisfy the boy.
Shiva smiled and gave Ganesha a single handful of roasted rice, offered with love and humility — and at once the child was content. So Kubera learned that all the wealth in the worlds cannot equal a morsel given with devotion, and that riches are a trust to be shared, not a thing to flaunt. Thereafter he kept his treasures in humility, as the servant of the gods.
