How to Chant अग्नि गायत्री मंत्र
Instructions
After a bath, sit facing east with a calm mind and chant "Om Vaishvanaraya Vidmahe Lalilaya Dhimahi. Tanno Agnih Prachodayat" 108 times on a mala. Like all Gayatri mantras it is ideally recited at the sandhya times (dawn, midday, dusk). It is especially fitting before lighting a sacred fire or performing homa/havan, where Agni is invoked first. Hold the bright, purifying fire in the heart as the carrier of prayer to the gods.
Spiritual Significance
Agni is hailed in the very first hymn of the Rigveda as the divine priest who brings the gods to the sacrifice and bestows prosperity; invoking Agni through his Gayatri before kindling the sacred fire is traditionally held to purify the worshipper and carry their prayers, untainted, to the deities.

Beyond the universal Gayatri Mantra, the Vedic tradition gives each great deity its own Gayatri — a prayer in the sacred Gayatri meter calling upon that deity to illumine the intellect. The Agni Gayatri invokes Agni, the fire-god with whom the Rigveda itself opens and who carries every offering of the yajna to the gods.
