The Totakashtakam is traditionally ascribed to Totakacharya. Eight verses sung by Totakacharya in praise of his guru Adi Shankaracharya — "O ocean of the nectar of all scriptures, dispeller of the world’s suffering, teacher of teachers, be my refuge." A model of the disciple’s devotion to the guru.

Meaning:तोटकाचार्य द्वारा अपने गुरु आदि शंकराचार्य की स्तुति के आठ श्लोक — "हे समस्त शास्त्र-अमृत के सागर, संसार-दुःख के नाशक, गुरुओं के गुरु, मेरे रक्षक बनो।" शिष्य की गुरु-भक्ति का आदर्श।
