Meera Bai, the Rajput princess who renounced palace life for devotion to Krishna, poured her bhakti into hundreds of padas. In this one she declares that she has found the true, imperishable wealth — the divine name — bestowed by her Guru's grace. The image of a treasure that cannot be spent or stolen and only grows has made it one of the most beloved bhajans in India.

ಪಾಯೋ ಜೀ ಮೈಂನೇ ರಾಮ ರತನ ಧನ ಪಾಯೋ। ವಸ್ತು ಅಮೋಲಿಕ ದೀ ಮೇರೇ ಸತಗುರು, ಕಿರಪಾ ಕರ ಅಪನಾಯೋ॥

ಅರ್ಥ:अहा, मैंने राम-नाम रूपी अमूल्य धन पा लिया! मेरे सद्गुरु ने यह अनमोल वस्तु दी और कृपा करके मुझे अपना लिया।
ಜನಮ ಜನಮ ಕೀ ಪೂಂಜೀ ಪಾಈ, ಜಗ ಮೇಂ ಸಭೀ ಖೋವಾಯೋ। ಖರಚೈ ನಹಿಂ ಕೋಈ ಚೋರ ನ ಲೂಟೈ, ದಿನ ದಿನ ಬಢ़ತ ಸವಾಯೋ॥
Janam janam ki punji payi, jag mein sabhi khovayo Kharchai nahin koi chor na lutai, din din badhat savayo
ಅರ್ಥ:मैंने जन्म-जन्म की पूँजी पाई, जबकि जगत में सब कुछ खो दिया। यह धन न खर्च होता है, न कोई चोर इसे लूट सकता है — दिन-प्रतिदिन यह सवाया बढ़ता है।
ಸತ ಕೀ ನಾವ ಖೇವಟಿಯಾ ಸತಗುರು, ಭವಸಾಗರ ತರ ಆಯೋ। ಮೀರಾ ಕೇ ಪ್ರಭು ಗಿರಧರ ನಾಗರ, ಹರಖ ಹರಖ ಜಸ ಗಾಯೋ॥

ಅರ್ಥ:सत्य की नाव के खेवैया सद्गुरु हैं, जिनके द्वारा मैं भवसागर तर गई। मीरा के प्रभु गिरधर नागर हैं; हर्ष-हर्ष से वह उनका यश गाती है।
