✦ अर्थ
भगवद्गीता के सबसे महिमामय आत्म-घोषों में से एक — भगवान श्रीकृष्ण प्रकट करते हैं कि वे समस्त प्राणियों के हृदय में अन्तर्यामी रूप से विराजमान हैं, और उन्हीं से स्मृति, ज्ञान तथा उनका अभाव (अपोहन) होता है। वे आगे कहते हैं कि समस्त वेदों द्वारा जानने योग्य वस्तु वे ही हैं, और वेदान्त के रचयिता तथा वेदों के ज्ञाता भी वे ही हैं। यह श्लोक भगवान को अन्तर्यामी आत्मा एवं समस्त शास्त्रों के परम लक्ष्य के रूप में स्थापित करता है।

In the climactic teaching of Purushottama Yoga, Krishna describes how He pervades and sustains all existence. In this verse He reveals His presence in the heart of every being as the source of memory and knowledge, and proclaims Himself the very subject and goal of all the Vedas and Vedanta.

अर्थ:मैं ही समस्त प्राणियों के हृदय में स्थित हूँ। मुझसे ही स्मृति, ज्ञान और अपोहन (उनका अभाव) होता है। समस्त वेदों के द्वारा मैं ही वेद्य (जानने योग्य) वस्तु हूँ तथा वेदान्त का और वेदों का ज्ञाता भी मैं ही हूँ।।
